Hip hop diferent?

The Streets és el nom artístic de Mike Skinner, un tio anglès que té molt poc a veure amb els típics raperos. És blanc, esquifit, subtil, vulnerable, una mica freak. Els tres discos que ha fet tenen cançons carregades d'humor britànic en les que demostra no tenir por de ser massa sentimental, o fins i tot melodramàtic. No parla de pistoles o de baralles entre bandes o de dones espectaculars que s'arrosseguen per ell, sinó de noies que el deixen sistemàticament o de jugar al billar amb amics o de beure infinites cerveses al pub.

En canvi, en concert no val gaire la pena. A part de no tenir un so gens bo, intenta imitar els hip-hoperos americans, amb molt poca ironia i amb mals resultats. Porta el típic MC negre i de dimensions tipu armari, es tira a sobre del públic i al final fins i tot s'atreveix a treure's la samarreta. Quina pena que un dels pocs grups de hip-hop que t'agraden, principalment perquè és diferent a tots els altres, acabi sent igual que tota la resta.
